Christian and Gay?

Is it possible to be Christian and Gay? It's an interesting issue. I guess the party line is "no way" - it goes against what God commands. And, while this is true - so does all sin...and yet there seems to be some issues that are more acceptable than others. I like what this author had to say on the subject.

Comments:
Christian and Gay? I did read the article and was disappointed by both its tone and substance. I thought that following Jesus meant battling with world, flesh and devil till death do us part. The author seemed be justifying a pre-Christian lifestyle by appealing to the sins of believers. What sort of logic is that? Plus his grasp of NT texts was self-serving and hardly deserves the descriptor 'exegesis'!

A far better read would be an article in the most recent issue of Christianity Today _The Road to Healing: battling homosexual attraction one day at a time_ http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2007/april/36.57.html As well, I'd recommend Philip Yancey's chapter "Grace-Healed Eyes" in his classic _What's So Amazing About Grace?_ Yancey offers a mature perspective on this provocative issue that balances grace AND truth.
